SPARC is the Stewart Park and Reserve Coalition, an all-volunteer not-for-profit that has protected the lands around Stewart Airport in New Windsor, Orange County, New York; those lands (about 7,000 acres) are now designated by the state as Stewart State Forest, and managed by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

SSF is an unparalleled resource - for visitors, animals, plant life and the region as a whole. Having won the fight to protect the lands after a 20 year battle, SPARC is now focused on stewardship and education so Stewart State Forest will be available for future generations of human and wildlife.

SPARC is all-volunteer and our fiscal sponsor is the Open Space Institute; contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Thanks to Nick Zungoli for providing amazing images, including the ones here, that capture the magic and serenity of Stewart State Forest.
